We love it here at The Mill Casino RV Park o on Coos Bay Who wouldn’t. Even Layla loves it.
The original plan was to spend a couple of nights here and today we were going to head south, arriving at Thousand Trails Russian River on Thursday. Checking the weather we discovered that the temps down there were in Triple digits and likley to stay that way for a couple of weeks. We decided the best course for us would be to stay on the Oregon Coast for a couple of weeks and let things cool down a bit in California. WE can’t stay here in this particular spot because (a) its too expensive and (b) it’s Labor Day weekend coming up and this site is booked. We also discovered that because of the holiday, all of our favorite parks are booked and we can’t get in until Monday. The solution was simple. The Mill has a large dry camping area (i.e., no hookups) just a 100 yards or so from where we now are. For 15$ a night we can have all the use of the facilities but we have to rely on our generator, our water supply and our holding tanks. We have done this on numerous occasions so we are staying put until next Monday, just moving to the dry camp later this morning. On Monday we shall move north 150m to one of our favorite Oregon Camps, Thousand Trails Pacific City, where will remain for at least two weeks, then head South again. Pacific City, home of the Pelican Brewery, Grateful Bread and other delights.
