The Good, The bad, The Learning Experiences

Things happen. First the good: we are no longer owners of a sticks and bricks home. Our house closed yesterday and we are completely moved out. The money is in the bank and we are paying off debts and setting ourselves free. It is a huge step in our plan. The bad: As we were preparing to leave the house and attempting to hook up,we found that the used hitch that I thought was a bargain has become unusable. New hitch to be installed Monday. Trailer currently being de-winterized and having some minor electrical problems addressed. If I get out of this for under two grand I’ll be a happy camper. We are currently in the Super 8 for three nights whilst all this is transpiring. On Monday afternoon we’ll move back into the trailer and park at Pocatello KOA for a few days while we work on the learning experience. Yes, the pets are with us in the Motel. The learning experience: we will never , ever fit all of the stuff that we have piled in the trailer into the trailer. This is minimalist living and I’ve been trying to convince my lovely spouse of that. She has started to see the light and I think she finally gets it, so we will spend the next few days winnowing, repacking, storing. Our favorite local charity store is going to have to name a wing after us. The short of it is that our departure has been delayed, maybe for a week. In the meantime, we’re taking care of some business, taking Layla to the groomer, going down to Blackfoot to say good-bye to Merre’s Mom, visiting some friends, having our taxes done, etc. The adventure continues…
